FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

01. How to treat Speech delay ?

Consult a Speech Language Pathologist for assessments and play-based therapy focusing on articulation, language, and social skills. Integrate with OT or behavior therapy for holistic care at Bangalore centers like Learn to Rise. Early intervention yields fastest gains.

02. Why my child is not speaking ?

Hearing loss, oral-motor problems like tongue tie, or autism can block speech development. In India, risks like birth asphyxia, seizures, or premature birth often play a big role too. Environmentally, things like lower parental education levels, consanguineous marriages, family history of delays, confusion from multiple languages at home, not enough verbal stimulation, or too much screen time are common culprits.

03. How many sessions will my child require in a week ?

Every child is unique, so we customize the number of weekly sessions based on how well they're responding and improving to ensure steady progress

04. What is ADHD ?

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder affecting children's attention, impulse control, and activity levels, with prevalence around 11% among school-aged kids in India. It typically emerges before age 12, impacting school performance, social skills, and self-esteem if untreated.

05. What is Autism ?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by challenges in social communication, repetitive behaviors, and sensory sensitivities, varying widely in severity across individuals. Early signs often appear by age 2-3, affecting how children interact, learn, and process the world.

06. What is Difference between Occupational therapy and Behavioral therapy ?

OT improves fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care like dressing or handwriting via play-based activities. Behavioral therapy, often ABA, targets observable behaviors like tantrums or compliance using rewards and data tracking. Along with modifications of behavior a Behavior therapist will also work on skill based learning in social emotional and daily cognitive domains.
